The CIO Forum is produced by and for CIO's. It is designed to allow IT leaders to network with their peers on a regional level. Your attendance to this invitation-only event is complimentary as you were referred by our Executive Advisory Council.
The agenda is being developed by our Conference Directors and a prominent Executive Advisory Council consisting of over 50 local CIO’s and Senior IT Executives, along with our Strategic Partners: Central CT Chapter of SIM (Society for Information Management), CTC (Connecticut Technology Council), HIMSS (Healthcare Information & Management Systems Society), and GMIS (Government Management Information Sciences). Together they recommend the selection of IT professionals who are exclusively invited to attend the CIO Forum.

Information technology, in the form of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, provides the basic building block for achieving these goals. To accelerate the adoption and meaningful use of electronic technology across the healthcare industry, the American Recovery and Revitalization Act (ARRA), subtitled: Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH), set aside almost $20 Billion to fund the implementation and integration of EMR systems and creation of Health Information Exchange (HIE) communities across the country. This panel will discuss the major provisions of ARRA HITECH, how the industry is responding to automate and integrate itself horizontally and vertically, and what changes in culture, care and cost we expect to see as a result of this revolution in healthcare operations. |
