Roger Fahnestock
Roger Fahnestock has served as the Executive Director of Information Technologies for the County of Kane, State of Illinois, since July of 2002. Roger has transformed technology in Kane County through building partnerships with the elected officials, department heads, and technology providers. Roger has been a tremendous resource to Kane County through his experience in education, government, and private business. Over the course of seven years, the Kane County Information Technologies Department has transformed the way the county does business. During Roger's tenure at Kane County, he has directed the replacement of the county's network and telephone infrastructure, implemented enterprise storage and virtualization, provisioned a community-wide Internet service for the county, municipalities, and four school districts. Recent projects include the design, construction, and relocation of the KaneCom 911 Center and the replacement of the Sheriff's records management and computer aided dispatch systems. Current projects include technology planning for the 16th Judicial Circuit and a fiber optic infrastructure project that will provide network services to a host of agencies throughout the county. The fiber network will be a critical part of extending county services, building agency-to-agency partnerships, and cultivating cloud computing.
