Lisa Mallory-Nance presently is a South Region Emergency Response Coordinator for the Cook County Department of Public Health. She collaborates with community partners and municipal governments in order to help create emergency response plans. Of particular interest to her is the ability to find alternative solutions to the problem of resource challenges, by thinking creatively and utilizing the existing strengths of a particular community.
Mrs. Nance has a biological background that is research oriented. Her previous experiences include bone marrow and megakaryocytic research at Rush University School of Medicine, and as a part of the Reproductive Endocrinology laboratory team at Northwestern University. Her undergraduate degree is in Biology from Xavier University in Louisiana, with minors in French, chemistry, political science and military history. Her master's degree is from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and her focus was on Maternal and Child Health.
