Experience: Mr. Johnson has over 27 years of IT experience in the Financial Services sector. His responsibilities have spanned the spectrum from entry-level programmer to CIO. His background includes developing, supporting and managing mission-critical applications; coordinating merger and conversion activities; and providing project management for large infrastructure initiatives. He has held senior management positions (spanning more than 16 years) with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Bank of America and BB&T. He became BB&T's first Chief Information Officer in October 2001. His primary areas of responsibility includes managing the IT Services organization which consists of Ops Division Business Services; IT Business Services; IT Operations Services; BB&T Project Office; IT Architecture & Infrastructure Planning; IT Application & Data Services; and IT Service Management.
Education: Graduate of the University of South Carolina (Concentrations in Math and Computer Science)
