KEYNOTE - "LET'S BUILD A SMARTER PLANET: GREEN AND BEYOND"
Presented by: Rich Lechner, VP Energy & Environment, IBM
Discussion: Over the past few years, a whole new world has emerged – one with volatile energy supplies, more greenhouse gas awareness, global financial crises – that makes sustainable business practices more important than ever. Businesses, governments and people everywhere are more concerned about efficient use of energy and natural resources. They are investing in making systems intelligent by building smarter and greener electrical grids, supply chains, information technology (IT) infrastructure and water systems. Governments around the world are placing clean tech or green collar jobs at the center of their economic stimulus packages. And while environmental impact tops the list of corporate responsibility concerns, it is just one of a number of issues on the list of sustainability concerns, including health, food and energy. Mr. Lechner will share with you different ways companies around the world have implemented smarter and greener systems. |

LUNCHEON KEYNOTE– "CHANGING THE CULTURE – THE TOUGHEST TASK IN IT"
Presented by: Jack Wilson, AVP Enterprise Architecture, Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company
Discussion: Any organization has to be dynamic in order to survive, let alone excel. You simply can't be stagnant, but there are a lot of forces within your organization struggling hard to maintain the status quo. It is one of the areas in the organization that by it very nature has to evolve forcing change within the organization. In the best cases IT can become a revolutionary force to drive an organization to examine what they do, why they do it and is it effective. It’s not easy, but it is what separates progressive IT leadership from stagnant IT management.
