Alan R. Guibord has more than 30 years of global IT management experience. Currently he is the Chairman and Founder of The Advisory Council (TAC provides enterprise quality advisory and consulting services to the Information Technology Market). Most recently he was President and CEO of Computerworld. During his tenure, Computerworld was the only publication in its market to hold top line performance during adverse market conditions and moved from 4th position into 2nd based on syndicated research.
Prior to joining Computerworld, Alan was Vice President and CIO at Fort James Corp., an international consumer products company with over $9 billion in sales, 28,000 employees and more than 60 manufacturing facilities world-wide. During his tenure, he had responsibility for all technology operations, strategy, spending and implementation, with a budget of more than $250 million and a global staff of more than 1,000.
He successfully led the merger of a $2 billion acquisition and executed an e-commerce strategy to accommodate retail and commercial business. He was a member of the Corporate Operating Committee, Capital Committee, and Productivity Committee. He also chaired The Corporate IT Operating Committee. |
